In 2004, a dedicated group of hospital administrators, physicians and community leaders in Inglewood, South Bay and West Los Angeles set out to merge and further develop the programs and services of a locally owned health system.
Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center, the fruit of their labor, comprises three hospitals dedicated to community-focused health care delivery. Centinela Freeman HealthSystem owns and operates Centinela campus, Memorial campus and Marina campus, as well as the LAX Medical Clinic- a freestanding community clinic and emergency center.
Local ownership and management, combined with physicians' involvement is a return to the traditional role of the community hospital in the United States. Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center's three hospital campuses offer a variety of features including:
• Convenient location to serve communities in the South Bay and West Los Angeles
• Offering 24/7 Emergency Department services at all campuses and at the Centinela Airport Medical Clinic
• Housed in more than one million square feet of space on 47 acres
• Offering access to 750 affiliated physicians working at the three facilities
